![]() The Tello EDU by DJI allows for in-depth programming using various languages, making it ideal for students, especially budding software engineers. The Ragu SX20 is remarkably inexpensive, though it does lack most high-end features. You're not restricted to nano drones, though, even if you're trying to save money. The Holy Stone HS190 and Blade Nano QX are hardly any larger the Holy Stone is foldable for easy transport while the Blade Nano is one of the most popular in its size range the only real drawback of the Blade QX is that the controller that comes with the ready-to-fly model has been widely panned for that reason, we'd recommend getting the bind-and-fly version and finding a separate controller to go with it. Some, like the Syma X20 and Sky Viper Dash, are extremely small, barely any larger than the palm of your hand, and as such cost very little. But the truth is, you don't have to spend a fortune to find something that's both reliable and fun to fly. There are so many quality drones on the market today that it can be difficult to wade through them all and find a good one. It does require a significant investment compared to most others on this list, but the premium construction of DJI's in-house designs are second to almost none. This isn't the newest drone from DJI, but it is just about the cheapest, and does a fantastic job of building on its predecessor, the Spark. In its place, we've added the DJI Mavic Mini. We also eliminated an off-brand model with limited availability and some noted quality control issues. We did make some small changes, though, such as moving the Ryze Tech Tello down a few spots on account of its image quality being below average. For that reason, we haven't altered much. ![]() ![]() After digging deep to make sure we include all the newest options, it turns out that most of the quadcopters we've recommended for the last while are still highly recommended and readily available. One supporting piece of evidence is our attempt to update this Wiki with the latest and most refined models on the market. Something to keep an eye out for is the fact that the Spellstones only upgrade while they are actually in your hand (as far as we are aware right now, anyway), so that can be a major downside to this type of strategy. After years of unheard-of, no-name manufactures and importers hawking dirt-cheap quadcopters, the industry has finally produced a hand of brands that are, at long last, generally reliable and cost-effective. I imagine it will have a somewhat similar play pattern to the current Evolve Shaman where they have the Doppelgangster + Evolve combo for two rounds of powerful board floods, except it’s a Snowfury Giant + Greater Sapphire Spellstone combo for two rounds of very, very powerful board floods of 4 8/8s. Keeping in mind that the vast majority of Shaman’s controlling tools are Overload cards, the “Overload deck” could become a real thing. Current Shaman decks actively avoid Overload cards, however we cannot overlook the synergy with the new Snowfury Giant from KFT. It’s a drawback on powerful cards and as such, it is a punishing mechanism. Now, the question becomes “Can the Spellstone deck exist?” On one hand, Overload is bad. The Greater version of this card is some amazing value, that much is certain. Even the first upgrade is already exactly opposite its Lesser version in terms of value – now costing less than two Manipulators while doing the same thing. It might however, once you unlock the Spellstone’s upgraded version. ![]() ![]() In this frame, the Lesser version of the Spellstone seems unplayable, although an argument could always be made for critical mass – if your deck wanted Faceless Manipulator in the first place, wouldn’t it want more of them? Probably, but such a deck does not currently exist. It’s a class-restricted Faceless Manipulator on a spell, however it costs a lot more. Unlike this card’s Druid alternative, the Sapphire upgradable spell does not look too exciting at first. ![]()
